Team,
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. The 2024-2025 hockey season begins at the end of this month. Seems like we just hung up the skates after tryouts.
HOCKEY SKILLS – Please encourage your player to continue shooting and stick handling at least once a day for the next few weeks. Cardio activity is also encouraged. Please have your player run, bike, swim, etc. All good skills to jump start our return to hockey.
TOURNAMENTS
• LABOR DAY - I would like to register our team for the Connecticut Labor Day Showdown Tournament in Danbury. Our CCYHA midget teams will be participating in this tournament, and I think it would be a great way to shake off the rust and start our season. The big benefit is not matter how we do in that tournament the results will not affect our season. The cost will be $100 per player.
• THANKSGIVING – As we may lose some of our players to high school teams, my thought is to participate in the Springfield Pics tournament over thanksgiving weekend. It’s a competitive tournament and well run. The cost will be $100 per players.
***Please let me know ASAP if your player can NOT attend one of these tournaments as I need to register for these soon.
SEASON SCHEDULE – Our game schedule is almost complete. I expect it to be uploaded to the website in the next two weeks.
PRESEASON PARTY – We are working on scheduling a preseason party. It will probably be the toward the end of August. Details to follow shortly.
