Central CT 18U American & 8U A / B
CCYHA Families:
A great story about our 18U American and 8U A / B teams.......On Wednesdays, the 8UA and 8UB teams practiced after the 18U American team, one or two of 8U players started coming out to watch the 18U American Team early as they were finishing practice and on one of those days, the 18U American coaches let the 8U players come on the ice while they were doing breakaways. The 18U players were really good about it and cheered them on and the little guys were walking on air. The next week, there were 5 of them and they got to come on and played keep away with the older kids. Well, as the weeks went on, almost their entire team was ready to go early to play with the "Big Mites" as they would put it. Over the course of the past few weeks, the 18U team ended their practices with 5 minutes playing with the mites with our sticks turned over, tag, doing breakaways or one midget with the puck being chased by 30 mites. The fun that was had, the little guys looking up to the big guys and the big guys remembering how far they had came was a really nice feel good moment.
This embodies the true spirit of Central CT Youth Hockey. Great job by 18U American Head Coach Matt Sheridan and all the 18U American players !!!!!!
