---------------------
I was asked to film several "situation" series webisodes by Gotta Love CT Hockey. They will be released throughout the rest of summer. These are brief game play situations. Players from our 16U T2 and 18U T2 teams participating in the filming.
Webisode 1: BACK CHECKING OPTIONS
Welcome once again to the "Situation" Series. In this episode backchecking options are discussed with Central CT Youth Hockey 16UAA and Cheshire High School coach Anthony Giusto.
Does your team have a strategy for forwards to help the defensemen in transitions from your offensive zone?
Coaches, the season is not far away. How will you be teaching your team to backcheck? For players moving to full-ice, this may be a totally new concept. Teams that backcheck well, will win games!

Webisode 2: Breakout Options
Today, Coach Anthony Guisto shares some excellent strategies for breaking out of the defensive zone. He covers a few options in this Situation Series that you'll undoubtedly encounter and might even implement with your team this season.
It's clear that having multiple ways to move the puck out of your zone is crucial for limiting the opponent's scoring opportunities. Plus, we can all agree that the game is a lot more fun when you're spending time in the other end of the rink!

Webisode 3: Offensive Zone Entries
At all levels of hockey it is important to have several ideas for establishing your presence and creating scoring opportunities as your team rushes into the offensive zone. In this episode, Coach Anthony Giusto demonstrates several effective options for entering the zone. While there are many more options offensive players can attempt to deploy, in all situations the puck carrier must read the defensive set up and react accordingly.
As you cross the offensive blue line, you must know which teammates are with you, where they are located and how the defensive team is covering them. Maintaining puck control and making speed-appropriate, accurate passes will give your team high quality scoring opportunities off the zone entry rush! How is your team entering the offensive zone?
